Oh Hi Etsy!

I just listed some of the yarns I've spun on my etsy shop!

Still Summer

I finished my awesome reef crochet project and loved how it turned out! I've also been doing the whole TDF2012, starting strong and petering out towards the end. This happened mostly because I started trying out cross stitching! I love it. It probably goes back to my love of things that look pixelated. Well here's what I've been doing lately:

Summer Time!

Summer time is my favorite :) School is out, work is starting up, and it's time to tighten up and get in that bikini.
I don't know what exactly got me going yesterday but I was looking at underwater crochet creatures and I just fell in love with the work in this shop!

Cornflower Blue Studio

So I decided to pick a color theme, a piece of cardboard and take a whack at it. What I came across pattern wise was a lot of work for reef awareness. It has really motivated me to make a piece, see how I feel about it, and see where it takes me! So here we go, my first mini reef WIP!

Cross Stitching

Soo I bought a cross stitch pattern from Bombastitch on Etsy. This is my first attempt at this and I've hit a few bumps but I've gotten 95% (maybe 100% by the end of the night) in two days. I love it. The idea of making pictures out of thread in a fraction of the time it would take me to crochet a picture. Sky's the limit with cross stitching and there are soooo many websites that will turn pictures into grids. I think as soon as I get some extra income I might go crazy buying thread and Aida cloth.
I also wanna share my current major project, another huge blanket! It's hard to tell what it is but it's a storm trooper helmet, it's going to be awesome!!
I also have an idea for something I want to try to sell, DIY kits for granny square blankets. I was going to make granny squares and use 8-bit or 16-bit video game characters for the pattern for DIY granny square character blankets. I'll keep you posted in that!

Blah where do I start? I really admire the people who each day (heck, even just once a week) take time out of their lives and post pictures, write loooong entries, and respond to their followers. I wish I had the attention span! Well I'm back again. After a long hiatus I'm back. My summer officially starts this Sunday. I got into the local university, in a new relationship, and on a new diet (see how long that last, hah). What an overhaul I've had. Well I don't have much to write about at this very second. Still crocheting and spinning yarn. <3 Trying new ways of getting a little extra income with my Etsy account while I'm in between work, which starts up in August!
I'm thinking about posting some of my hand spun yarn on Etsy but I have no idea how much to list them for! I paid probably $3-$4 an ounce for the fiber itself and my time spinning and blah! Something to think on I guess :) Whats the most you spent on hand spun yarn?

Talk at you soon!

Spinning and Crocheting

I've been on a crazy crochet kick lately. My ripple pattern blanket for my boyfriend is about 42% done, the one I'm making for myself is about 25% done. I frogged an old scarf I was making out of Lion Brand Amazing® and started using the yarn to make "Cherry Blossom Shawl" from Crochet Today! I LOVE the crocodile stitch and I'm pretty confident in this pattern. The only problem I have with the crocodile stitch is I just can't seem to find a pattern that I could actually see myself wearing. This cherry blossom pattern I can totally see myself wearing, it's feminine and still has that scaly look that I wish I wasn't afraid to wear. Here is a link to my Ravelry project list. I try to keep the pictures up to date because I love looking at other people's progress in projects so I try to return the favor. Here's some picture of my current projects.

Midna decided to curl up under my ripple blanket as I was working on it. Sooooo cute <3

"No more pictures mom!"
I actually took this last night, and managed to finish plying it last night. The colors are amazing, soft peaches and browns. After I wrap it on my niddy noddy I'll shoot another picture of this and all my other FO that I've spun on my wheel. :}
This is in Key Largo, I went with my parents to a crab fest or something (I don't eat sea food so not my cup of tea). That guy in the pale yellow Guy Harvey shirt is my dad.
I saw this in lab class yesterday and it made me giggle. I am an uncontrollable poker.
 Rex being a goofball.
And Midna protecting my feet from that monster that moves under my sheets when I'm sleeping (aka my feet).
